Mercy Economic Development International Corporation, better known by the acronym MEDIC, has undergone the tedious task in selecting a web design company to design their missions site.

After Several months of collaboration and cooperation with the design company and through many hours of prayer, www.medicinternational.org has launched!

The first phase of the Medic web site is now complete. Each section on our sites will give an overview of the selected topic. The site will also contain our first "Windows to the World" stories, and news features, a list of interesting/useful links, information on how to contact MEDIC, how to sponsor a pastor or make a donation?, and how to become involved with MEDIC.

There will be two more phases to follow Phase I before our site is at the stage we want it to be. These next two phases will broaden what we already have, giving a more in depth look into MEDIC, its mission, and its out reach programs. Please continue to prayer for us as our site is pieced together.

MEDIC CANADA HAS RECEIVED APPROVAL FROM THE CANADIAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
MEDIC Canada, headquartered in Olds Alberta Canada, has received approval from Industry Canada's Minister of Corporate and Consumer Affairs to operate as a Federal non-profit corporation, and they have received their tax exempt status in 2003. The MEDIC Canada Board of Directors is comprised of Pauline Hoare, President, Daniel Nallathamby, Derek Liebenberg, its newest member, effective OCtober 2004, Dr. Robin Knudsen, and Jonathon Lallo . Already the Board has taken steps to devise develop its short range strategic plan. Also in the interim, MEDIC Canada is working with the International Affiliates and other Canadian Charities to provide technical assistance to the MEDIC Benin Agriculture project and is has been involved with MEDSA in South Africa since inception of their ministries. MEDIC Canada is also developing working relationships in China to further ministry opportunities there as well.

MEDIC PROPOSES AFFILIATION WITH CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM
MEDIC International is praying about development of a curriculumand working with Christian Leadership University involving programs that MEDIC could adapt for use in the field enabling our affiliates to administer programs where native community development missionaries and pastors could receive qualified education and training leading to obtaining an Associate or even a Doctorate Degree. INCREASE ACCESS TO LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL MARKETS
It's one thing to fund a micro loan and disciple a micro business entrepreneur. It is quite another in assisting them get their products to expanded markets. In fact we feel this is often times an overlooked component of micro enterprise. MEDIC feels that providing linkages to international markets is for certain micro businesses essential. MEDIC International Vice President for Development, Derek Liebenberg has imitated discussions with a major product wholesaler in the United States that has indicated a serious interest in purchasing large quantities of products produced by micro business entrepreneurs coming through our Entrepreneurship programs. In fact this company sent a representative to meet with Derek in South Africa in the spring of 2003 to review products and interview some of the micro businesses entrepreneurs.
